Introduction

Our privacy policy will help you understand what information we collect at mayze, how we use it, how we protect our data and what choices you have with regards to the way your information is collected online.
When we talk about “mayze,” “we,” “our,” or “us” in this policy, we are referring to mayze GmbH, located in Munich, Germany, represented by Marianne Kraai, CEO. When we talk about the “Services” in this policy, we are referring to our iOS App. Our Services are currently available in Germany via your mobile iOS device. This privacy statement is at all times available on our homepage under mayzetheapp.com. The collection of personal data takes place exclusively in accordance with the provisions of the data protection law of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files which are saved on your computer and which allow website usage to be analyzed. The information created by the cookies about your use of this website (including your IP address in anonymous form) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and saved there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, in order to compile reports about website activity for the website operator and to produce additional services related to website and internet usage. Google may also communicate this information to third parties, where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google behalf. You can avoid the installation of cookies by appropriately adjusting your browser software; however, we point out that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all the features of this website. By using this website, you agree that the data that Google collects about you may be processed in the way described above and for the above-mentioned purpose. 

Sites and apps covered by this Statement

This statement covers all domains, mobile apps and other products by mayze.

On the mayze website and apps you may find links to websites of third-party providers (for example, the "Like" button on Facebook, or the Instagram icon) by which you can easily access further information or other relevant websites. By clicking on these links you leave the mayze website. mayze has no control whatsoever over these websites or their data protection practices, which may differ from mayze's practices. By linking to third-party websites mayze does not endorse or support in any way the content contained there, excluding the personal data which it has made available to these third-party providers, or which has been collected by them and is not covered by mayze's data protection statement. You should therefore read through the data protection statement of all companies before disclosing personal information. 


Information we collect and receive

1. User Data

Content and information submitted by users to the Services is referred to in this policy as “User Data.” . Where mayze collects or processes User Data, it does so on behalf of the User. User Data includes: profile information such as first name, location, job, education, age, gender, height and interests, sent and received messages and pictures. A user may also choose to enter additional information to their profile, such as favorite locations. In detail, mayze requests the following information from you to enable you to use our Services (using Facebook Connect to simplify the process):

Photos: you provide us with your public Facebook profile pictures to signup, but you have the option of removing this photo or adding additional photos from Facebook or your camera roll. Submitted photos are reviewed by the mayze application team to make sure the content doesn’t violate our guidelines. Photos should represent you clearly and you should have the rights to each picture. Photos cannot include a minor or famous person, neither represent a racist, violent, illegal or sexual message. The photos are published in the App under the sole responsibility of the User.
 

Personal information: mayze requests age, sex, first name, education, profession, height, location, favorite restaurants, bars and clubs in order to enable you to create a User profile. Some data is automatically collected with you your permission using Facebook connect. mayze stores your last name and email address as well, for administrative and communicative purposes, they are not visible on our Services.
 

Facebook Friends: by signing up with Facebook connect the User enables mayze to access the list of friends in order hide the User’s profile from Facebook Friends on mayze.



2. Other information

mayze may also collect and receive the following information:
 

Billing and other information: mayze does currently not collect or process any billing data. Such data is collected and processed solely by third parties such as Apple Pay.

Communication data: Chat messages are strictly private and only visible to the Users involved in the chat. No managers or employees hold or exercise any rights to view these conversations or the circumstances surrounding them, including those authorized to process data except in case of judicial request, legislative or administrative disposition or a violation of our user guidelines

Services usage information: This is information about how you are accessing and using the Services, which may include administrative and support communications with us and information about the feature, content and other users you interact with.

Contact information: With your permission, any contact information you choose to import is collected (such as your address or list of friends from Facebook) when using the Services.

Log data: When you use the Services our servers automatically record information, including information that your your mobile app sends when you are using it. This log data may include your Internet Protocol address, the address of the web page you visited before using the Services, your browser type and settings, the date and time of your use of the Services, information about your browser configuration and plug-ins, language preferences, and cookie data.

Device information: We may collect information about the device you are using the Services on, including what type of device it is, what operating system you are using, device settings, application IDs, unique device identifiers, and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you are using and its settings.

Geo-location information: mayze uses Google Analytics to determine your location. Precise GPS location from mobile devices is collected only with your permission. In addition, your mobile device may provide you with choices around how and whether location data is collected and shared. mayze does not control these choices, or default settings, which are offered by makers of your mobile device operating system.

Services integrations: If, when using the Services, you integrate with a third party service, we will connect that service to ours. The third party provider of the integration may share certain information about your account with mayze. However, we do not receive or store your passwords for any of these third party services.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and improve the Services.

1. User Data

mayze may access and use User Data as reasonably necessary and in accordance with User’s instructions to provide, maintain and improve the Services and to prevent or address service, security, technical issues or at a User’s request in connection with User support matters.

2. Other information

We use other kinds of information in providing the Services. Specifically:

To understand and improve our Services: We carry out research and analyze trends to better understand how users are using the Services and improve them.

By responding to your requests: If you contact us with a problem or question, we will use your information to respond.

Sending emails and mayze messages: We may send you Service and administrative emails and messages. We may also contact you to inform you about changes in our Services, our Service offerings, and important Service related notices, such as security and fraud notices. These emails and messages are considered part of the Services and you may not opt-out of them. In addition, we sometimes send emails about new product features or other news about mayze. You can opt out of these at any time.

Communicating with you and marketing: We may also use your contact information for our own marketing or advertising purposes. You can opt out of these at any time.

 

Sharing and Disclosure

There are times when information described in this privacy policy may be shared by mayze. This section discusses only how mayze may share such information. Users determine their own policies for the sharing and disclosure of User Data. mayze does not control how Users or their third parties choose to share or disclose User Data.

1. User Data

Other than described in this statement, mayze does not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties. mayze gives the following personal information: 

mayze uses the services of service providers and suppliers to deliver complete products, services and customer solutions and to assist mayze with marketing and communication initiatives. These providers and suppliers include, for example, providers of customer support and live-help and email service providers. Service providers are under a contractual obligation to treat information entrusted to them on behalf of mayze as confidential and not to use it for any purposes other than for services provided to mayze. From time to time mayze carries out joint marketing initiatives with other companies. Certain mayze services and marketing communications are delivered at the same time as those of other companies as part of these initiatives. For some of these services and communications you have the opportunity to pass on your personal information, both to mayze and to the other companies involved in these initiatives. Examples of this include marketing communications from mayze and other companies, or the opportunity to register online for software products of different companies.

If you prefer to give your personal information exclusively to mayze, mayze will not pass on this information to other companies taking part in these marketing initiatives. If you decide to share your personal information with other companies, the handling and use of this information falls under the respective data protection provisions of this company. 

Other than in the cases described in this statement, mayze does not disclose your personal information to third parties without your authorization, except for the purposes listed under "2. Other types of disclosure".

Transfer of Personal Data outside the EU

When registering, the User agrees to his/her data being transmitted to subcontractors and hosted on servers by our service providers outside the European Union. mayze guarantees that the transfers are made in conditions ensuring the confidentiality and security of the data.

2. Other types of disclosure

mayze may share or disclose User Data and other information as follows:

During changes to our business structure: If we engage in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, reorganization, sale of some or all of mayze's assets, financing, acquisition of all or a portion of our business, a similar transaction or proceeding, or steps in contemplation of such activities (e.g. due diligence).

To comply with laws: To comply with legal or regulatory requirements and to respond to lawful requests, court orders and legal process.

To enforce our rights, prevent fraud and for safety: To protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of us or third parties, including enforcing contracts or policies, or in connection with investigating and preventing fraud.

We may disclose or use aggregate or de-identified information for any purpose. For example, we may share aggregated or de-identified information with our partners or others for business or research purposes like telling a prospective mayze User the average number of messages sent within a chat in a day or the number of total matches per user or partnering with research firm or academics to explore interesting questions about online dating.

Security of personal data

mayze uses appropriate physical, technical and administrative procedures to protect the information collected by us, in order to prevent unauthorized access to your data or its disclosure, to maintain the integrity of the data and to ensure its correct usage. When collecting or passing on sensitive data such as credit card information, SSL encryption (Secure Sockets Layer) can be employed by the user, which guarantees that no one can view your data except us. This security measure is activated when you see the symbol of a broken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) at the bottom of your browser window. When accessing the domain in the address line of your browser, use https://mayzetheapp.com to activate SSL encryption. 

Children’s information
Our Services are not directed to children under 18. If you learn that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we will post any changes on this page. If you continue to use the Services after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.
